Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical dictation and transcribe them into accurate medical reports.
- Format documents according to specific client guidelines and medical terminology standards.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, and medical accuracy.
- Manage confidential patient data with strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and data privacy regulations.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding unclear dictation or formatting requests.
- Utilize transcription software and tools efficiently to meet daily production quotas.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Medical Transcription is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in medical transcription with a focus on accuracy and speed.
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Fast and accurate typing skills (minimum 60 WPM).
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a distraction-free home office environment.
- Proficiency in using transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, FTW Express).
