We are looking for a professional who can maintain HIPAA compliance and deliver high-quality medical documentation efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical dictation and transcribe them into accurate medical reports, including history and physicals, operative reports, and discharge summaries.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, syntax, punctuation, and medical accuracy before submission.
- Format documents according to specific client guidelines and established medical standards (e.g., AMA style).
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols at all times.
- Utilize medical spell-checkers and reference materials to resolve complex medical terminology.
- Meet daily productivity and quality assurance (QA) metrics consistently.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding unclear dictation or specific formatting requests.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Medical Transcription or Health Information Technology preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience, preferably in a remote setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Typing speed of at least 65 WPM with a proven track record of 98%+ accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and transcription-specific software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Express Scribe).
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, quiet workspace.
