Responsibilities
- Transcribe medical reports: Accurately convert dictated audio recordings into formatted text documents, including consultation notes, operative reports, and discharge summaries.
- Quality Assurance: Proofread and edit transcriptions to ensure accuracy, grammar, and adherence to medical terminology standards.
- Compliance & Security: Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and company security protocols to ensure patient data is protected.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding complex medical reports or technical issues.
- Timely Submission: Meet daily and weekly production deadlines to ensure a smooth workflow for healthcare providers.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of professional medical transcription experience.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical transcription program or certification (e.g., AAMT) is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and medical transcription software.
- Typing Speed: Minimum 60-70 words per minute with high accuracy.
- Medical Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Self-Directed: Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
