Responsibilities
- Listen to and transcribe audio recordings of medical reports and patient visits into accurate text documents.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and medical accuracy.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA privacy regulations and confidentiality standards.
- Use specialized transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, MS Word) efficiently.
- Meet daily and weekly production quotas while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers for clarification when necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Medical Transcription or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in medical transcription, or equivalent training.
- Excellent typing speed (65+ WPM) and accuracy (99%+).
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet home workspace.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and medical transcription tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
