Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical consultations and accurately transcribe them into text format using industry-standard software.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure high standards of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and factual accuracy.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA guidelines and maintain the strict confidentiality of all patient information.
- Research and verify medical terms, drugs, and procedures to ensure precise documentation.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity and quality assurance standards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding query clarification or technical issues.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Associate’s degree or prior transcription experience is preferred.
- Proven typing speed of at least 60 words per minute (WPM).
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar and punctuation rules.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
