Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings and accurately transcribe them into written text using specialized transcription software.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and factual accuracy.
- Adhere to strict quality assurance standards and client-specific formatting requirements.
- Maintain strict patient/client confidentiality and data security protocols.
- Research and resolve ambiguous terms or medical/legal terminology.
- Meet daily and weekly production deadlines consistently.
- Communicate effectively with team leads regarding technical issues or query items.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare or Legal Studies is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in medical or legal transcription.
- Proficient typing speed of 60 WPM or higher with high accuracy.
- Advanced command of the English language, grammar, and punctuation.
- Reliable, high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office space.
- Experience with transcription hardware (foot pedals) and software (e.g., Express Scribe).
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
