Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe medical dictation into electronic health records (EHRs)
- Ensure proper formatting, grammar, and punctuation in all documents
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance standards for patient data security
- Manage multiple priorities with strict turnaround deadlines
- Collaborate with editors to resolve discrepancies and maintain quality
- Utilize speech recognition software with manual editing as needed
- Document quality assurance and revision processes
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical transcription experience
- Credential (CMT/RHIT) or equivalent vocational training required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR systems
- Exceptional listening and typing skills (80+ WPM)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Ability to maintain 98%+ accuracy under pressure
- Reliable high-speed internet and quiet home office
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
