Responsibilities
- Audio to Text Conversion: Listen to audio recordings and convert them into accurate, verbatim written documents using specialized software.
- Proofreading & Editing: Review transcripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting errors to ensure high-quality output.
- Adherence to Guidelines: Strictly follow client-specific style guides and formatting rules for every project.
- Quality Assurance: Self-edit work to meet strict accuracy thresholds before submitting for review.
- Deadline Management: Efficiently manage time to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production quotas.
- Terminology Research: Accurately research and utilize industry-specific terminology as needed.
- Technical Support: Troubleshoot minor software issues and utilize transcription tools effectively.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
- Experience: Previous transcription experience (medical, legal, or general) is highly preferred.
- Typing Skills: Demonstrated typing speed of 60+ WPM with high accuracy.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Express Scribe, or similar transcription tools is a plus.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of the English language, including advanced grammar and vocabulary.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to producing error-free work.
