Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical dictations and convert them into accurate text documents.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, and syntax errors.
- Ensure all medical terminology is used correctly and adheres to HIPAA compliance standards.
- Meet strict daily and weekly production quotas and turnaround times.
- Manage and organize files electronically using our secure transcription software.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding unclear dictations when necessary.
- Maintain a high level of data confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Medical Transcription or related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a transcriptionist or medical scribe (1+ years preferred).
- Exceptional typing speed (65+ WPM) with high accuracy (99%+).
- Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite and transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe).
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is highly desirable.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
