- Proofreading and Editing: Review transcripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and syntax errors to ensure high-quality output.
- Adhere to Guidelines: Strictly follow client-specific style guides and formatting requirements.
- Manage Deadlines: Prioritize multiple assignments to meet daily and weekly production targets without compromising quality.
- Quality Assurance: Perform self-audits to maintain a high standard of transcription accuracy.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize industry-standard transcription software and hardware effectively.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience in medical, legal, or general transcription (2+ years preferred).
- Typing Speed: Minimum typing speed of 60-70 WPM with high accuracy.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in medical terminology is a plus.
- Technical Requirements: Reliable high-speed internet and a computer capable of processing large audio files.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional proofreading skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Software Skills: Familiarity with Express Scribe, Dragon NaturallySpeaking, or similar tools.
