Responsibilities
- Transcribe medical dictation from doctors and healthcare professionals with high accuracy and speed using specialized transcription software.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and medical terminology errors.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity targets within established time frames.
- Communicate effectively with team leads to clarify unclear dictation or resolve technical issues.
- Manage file organization and backup procedures to ensure data integrity.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required; a post-secondary certificate in Medical Transcription is preferred.
- Minimum typing speed of 60-80 WPM with high accuracy (95%+).
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and transcription-specific software (e.g., Express Scribe).
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace free from distractions.
