Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical consultations, dictations, and examinations and transcribe them into accurate text format.
- Adhere to medical coding and transcription style guides to ensure consistency and compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and syntax errors before submitting them for review.
- Use industry-standard transcription software and tools to manage workflow efficiently.
- Meet strict daily and weekly production deadlines to ensure timely delivery of patient records.
- Communicate effectively with the quality assurance team to resolve any clarification issues or terminology queries.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required; completion of a medical transcription program is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in medical transcription, healthcare documentation, or a related field is required.
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Typing speed of at least 60-70 words per minute with high accuracy.
- Must have a dedicated home office setup with high-speed internet and a quiet environment.
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar and spelling.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain strict confidentiality.
