Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings and transcribe them into clear, accurate text documents using industry-standard software.
- Proofread and edit transcripts meticulously to ensure high-quality output and adherence to style guides.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Utilize medical terminology knowledge to accurately transcribe complex clinical terms and dictation.
- Communicate professionally with team leads and clients regarding unclear audio or formatting requirements.
- Meet daily productivity goals and accuracy benchmarks.
- Stay updated on medical coding and transcription best practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in medical transcription is preferred; entry-level candidates with strong typing skills are considered.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Typing speed of at least 50 WPM with a minimum 95% accuracy rate.
- Reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated workspace.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and transcription tools.
