Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe dictated medical reports from audio files into electronic text format.
- Format documents according to client specifications and industry standards (e.g., SOAP notes, discharge summaries).
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure high-quality output with zero grammatical errors.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality regulations at all times.
- Communicate effectively with medical providers for clarification on unclear dictation.
- Manage transcription software and tools efficiently to meet daily production quotas.
- Stay updated on medical terminology and industry trends to maintain accuracy.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Medical Transcription or related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in medical transcription with a strong command of medical terminology.
- Minimum typing speed of 60 WPM with exceptional accuracy (98%+).
- Proficient in using speech recognition software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
