Responsibilities
- Transcribe Medical Records: Accurately listen to and convert audio recordings into written medical reports, including history and physicals, discharge summaries, and operative reports.
- Quality Assurance: Review and edit transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, and medical accuracy to ensure the highest quality of documentation.
- Formatting & Compliance: Adhere to strict formatting guidelines and electronic health record (EHR) software requirements to maintain patient data integrity.
- Terminology Management: Utilize reference materials and medical dictionaries to decipher complex medical terminology and acronyms.
- Confidentiality: Maintain strict patient privacy and data security protocols in accordance with company policies and federal regulations.
- Time Management: Meet daily and weekly productivity quotas within established turnaround times.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical transcription or related healthcare documentation.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Transcription or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Skills: Exceptional English grammar and proofreading skills; solid knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and at least one EHR platform (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth).
- Hardware: Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated workspace free from distractions.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to detect subtle discrepancies in audio and text with high precision.
