Responsibilities
- Convert audio recordings of medical dictations into written text documents with high accuracy and speed.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology accuracy.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize specialized transcription software and hardware (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Express Scribe).
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding unclear dictations or formatting requirements.
- Adhere to departmental quality assurance standards and turnaround times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Transcription or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Medical Transcriptionist with a strong command of medical terminology.
- Typing speed of at least 60 WPM with high accuracy (95%+).
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office workspace.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and medical transcription platforms.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
