Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings and transcribe them into accurate text documents in a timely manner.
- Ensure all transcriptions are free of grammatical errors, punctuation mistakes, and formatting inconsistencies.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA compliance standards.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for accuracy, clarity, and tone before submission.
- Utilize transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe, Dragon NaturallySpeaking) and medical reference tools efficiently.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity and quality assurance targets.
- Communicate effectively with team leads regarding complex medical terms or audio quality issues.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or certification in Medical Transcription is preferred.
- Proven experience in medical transcription or a related administrative field.
- Excellent command of the English language with a focus on grammar, spelling, and sentence structure.
- Fast and accurate typing skills (minimum 60 WPM).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and medical transcription software.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Access to a high-speed internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace.
