Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings and transcribe them into accurate written text using specialized transcription software.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure high standards of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting.
- Adhere to strict client-specific style guides and confidentiality agreements.
- Manage multiple audio files and meet daily and weekly production deadlines consistently.
- Identify and resolve any ambiguous audio segments or unclear terminology.
- Communicate effectively with the quality assurance team regarding any discrepancies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional transcription experience (Medical or Legal background is a plus).
- Proven typing speed of 60+ WPM with high accuracy (98%+).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and specific transcription tools (e.g., Express Scribe, Dragon NaturallySpeaking).
- Deep understanding of US English grammar, syntax, and medical/legal terminology.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
