- Accurately transcribe medical dictation into text format using specialized software and equipment.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and medical terminology accuracy.
- Ensure all transcribed documents are HIPAA compliant and meet specific formatting guidelines.
- Adhere to strict deadlines and manage workflow efficiently to meet daily production quotas.
- Communicate with healthcare providers regarding unclear dictation or formatting requests.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on medical coding changes and transcription best practices.
- Maintain a quiet, dedicated workspace to ensure high-quality audio recording and transcription.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience is required.
- Fast and accurate typing speed (minimum 75 words per minute).
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Medical Transcription software (e.g., Dragon, Emdat).
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
