Responsibilities
- Listen to dictated medical reports and transcribe them into a text format using specialized software.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and medical terminology accuracy.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA compliance standards and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Format documents according to specific client requirements and style guides.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding unclear dictation or urgent deadlines.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity targets while maintaining high quality standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; Medical Transcription certification (CMT/AMT) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical transcription, preferably in a remote setting.
- Strong command of English grammar, spelling, and medical terminology.
- Typing speed of 65+ words per minute with high accuracy.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
