Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical consultations and transcribe them into accurate, formatted text documents.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure grammatical correctness, proper punctuation, and flawless medical terminology usage.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and company privacy policies to protect patient confidentiality.
- Utilize industry-standard transcription software (e.g., Dragon Medical, Express Scribe) to manage files efficiently.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity and accuracy targets set by the quality assurance team.
- Communicate professionally with healthcare providers to clarify complex medical terms or voice issues.
- Stay updated on evolving medical terminology and transcription best practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; a degree in Health Science or Medical Transcription is a strong plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience required.
- Exceptional typing speed (minimum 65 words per minute) with high accuracy (95%+).
- Comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Reliable, high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, noise-free home workspace.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and transcription-specific software.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
