Responsibilities
- Manage high-volume incoming calls and schedule patient appointments efficiently using various scheduling software.
- Coordinate with medical providers and clinical teams to optimize daily schedules and reduce wait times.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments to ensure seamless service.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) and patient documentation.
- Handle patient inquiries, address scheduling conflicts, and resolve issues promptly with a customer-first approach.
- Assist in the onboarding of new patient referrals and ensure accurate data entry.
- Collaborate with the front desk and billing departments to ensure comprehensive patient flow.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical scheduling, front desk reception, or a related administrative role.
- Proficient in using EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong computer literacy and exceptional data entry skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and medical terminology is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment while maintaining a positive demeanor.
