Responsibilities
- Manage Calendars: Efficiently coordinate and schedule appointments for healthcare providers, patients, and internal staff using advanced scheduling software.
- Patient Communication: Act as the primary point of contact, answering inquiries via phone and email with a focus on empathy and professionalism.
- Administrative Support: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) and patient databases, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Conflict Resolution: Anticipate scheduling conflicts and proactively resolve them to minimize downtime for the team.
- Verification: Verify patient insurance eligibility and demographic information prior to appointments.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with clinical staff to ensure optimal provider utilization and patient flow.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration or relevant field is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a scheduling, administrative, or customer service role within the healthcare industry.
- Technical Proficiency: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook) and experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) is highly preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Organization: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.
