Responsibilities
- System Maintenance & Support: Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the stability of critical backend services and databases during night operations.
- Incident Response: Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex technical incidents and outages with minimal supervision.
- Code Optimization: Review, refactor, and optimize legacy code and new features to improve performance and scalability.
- Deployment Management: Execute and monitor automated deployment pipelines, ensuring zero-downtime releases for our global customers.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with the day-shift engineering team to hand off tickets, document critical findings, and ensure seamless knowledge transfer.
- Security Compliance: Adhere to security protocols and best practices to safeguard sensitive client data.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development with a strong focus on high-availability systems.
- Technical Stack: Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go, with experience in SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Cloud Expertise: Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS or Azure, including EC2, S3, and Lambda.
- DevOps: Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Availability: Must be available to work a dedicated night shift schedule (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM PST).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document technical processes clearly.
