Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings and transcribe them into written text with high accuracy and speed.
- Format documents according to client specifications and medical coding standards.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and factual accuracy.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality agreements and HIPAA compliance guidelines.
- Utilize transcription software and hardware efficiently to meet daily production quotas.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding unclear audio or specific terminology.
- Continuously update knowledge on medical terminology and industry-specific jargon.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree or certificate in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Proven experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or similar role.
- Excellent typing skills (minimum 50 WPM) with a focus on accuracy.
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar and syntax.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Proficiency in industry-standard transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Emdat).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
