Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings and transcribe them into accurate written text using specialized medical transcription software.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and spelling are flawless.
- Ensure strict adherence to medical terminology, formatting guidelines, and client-specific style sheets.
- Maintain the highest level of patient confidentiality and data security at all times.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding unclear dictation or urgent deadlines.
- Manage workflow efficiently to meet daily production quotas and quality standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and stay updated on industry best practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Transcription or related field preferred.
- Minimum typing speed of 45 WPM with a high accuracy rate (95%+).
- Strong command of the English language, including advanced grammar and punctuation rules.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with transcription software (e.g., Dragon, Express Scribe) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a remote or hybrid setting.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet home office environment.
