Job Summary
The Scheduling Coordinator will be responsible for managing appointment calendars, coordinating patient visits, and communicating effectively between patients, providers, and administrative staff.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain complex scheduling calendars for multiple healthcare providers and departments.
- Coordinate patient appointments, procedures, and consultations ensuring optimal provider utilization.
- Communicate with patients via phone and email to confirm appointments and answer inquiries regarding their care.
- Update patient records and electronic health records (EHR) with accurate scheduling information.
- Handle patient check-ins, verify insurance information, and ensure all necessary documentation is collected.
- Assist in resolving scheduling conflicts and emergencies in a calm and professional manner.
- Collaborate with front desk staff and nursing teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in medical scheduling, healthcare administration, or customer service is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic health record systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional high-pressure situations.
