Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead research projects in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing architectures
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate theoretical models into practical quantum circuits
- Publish groundbreaking research in top-tier scientific journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and interns while fostering a culture of scientific curiosity
- Develop quantum simulation frameworks for testing and validation of new algorithms
- Secure external funding through NSF grants and industry partnerships
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field with 3+ years research experience
- Deep expertise in quantum information theory, quantum algorithms, and quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Proficiency in high-performance computing environments and classical programming (Python, C++, Julia)
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications in quantum computing or related fields
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ) or simulation frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex research projects from concept to publication
- Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
