Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized 1-on-1 and small group virtual tutoring sessions in K-12 subjects and test prep
- Develop customized lesson plans aligned with Boston Public Schools curriculum standards
- Track student progress through our digital platform and provide detailed progress reports
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student achievements and goals
- Utilize interactive tools (digital whiteboards, simulations) to create engaging virtual learning environments
- Participate in ongoing professional development and curriculum training sessions
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to FERPA compliance guidelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of teaching/tutoring experience with proven student success metrics
- Expertise in Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and Common Core standards
- Proficiency with virtual tutoring platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, our proprietary system)
- Excellent communication skills with ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles
- Boston residency preferred (not required but advantageous for curriculum alignment)
- Passion for education and commitment to student achievement in underserved communities
- Reliable high-speed internet and dedicated home office space
