Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized 1:1 and small-group virtual tutoring sessions across K-12 subjects
- Develop customized lesson plans aligned with Michigan state standards and student goals
- Utilize interactive digital tools (Zoom, interactive whiteboards, specialized platforms) for engaging instruction
- Track student progress through regular assessments and detailed progress reports
- Collaborate with parents and classroom teachers to support holistic student development
- Participate in ongoing training on pedagogical techniques and EdTech innovations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant subject area (Master's preferred)
- 1+ years of tutoring or teaching experience with Detroit Public Schools curriculum
- Proficiency in virtual learning platforms and digital teaching tools
- Strong diagnostic skills to identify learning gaps and adapt teaching methods
- Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and educational stakeholders
- Michigan teaching certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Reliable high-speed internet and dedicated home office setup
