Responsibilities
- Lead the Technical Roadmap: Define and execute the technical strategy for AI and Machine Learning initiatives, specifically targeting 2026 capabilities.
- Architect Scalable Systems: Design and implement robust, scalable, and high-performance ML pipelines and inference engines.
- Model Optimization: Oversee the fine-tuning and optimization of Large Language Models (LLMs) and computer vision models for production environments.
- Research & Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends in Generative AI and Deep Learning, evaluating new technologies to keep Zai Corp at the forefront.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and data scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Collaboration: Partner with product managers and engineers to translate complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in software engineering or machine learning, with at least 3 years in a lead or architect role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX. Deep understanding of distributed systems and cloud architecture (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- AI Expertise: Strong background in NLP, Computer Vision, or Reinforcement Learning.
- Problem Solving: Proven track record of solving complex technical challenges and delivering production-ready systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
