Responsibilities
- Monitor and moderate real-time chat conversations across multiple platforms including social media, gaming forums, and live streams
- Enforce community guidelines with impartial judgment while maintaining positive user engagement
- Escalate policy violations, inappropriate content, and potential security threats to appropriate teams
- Document moderation actions and provide weekly performance analytics to stakeholders
- Collaborate with product teams to improve moderation tools and user experience
- Train new moderators on platform-specific policies and best practices
- Participate in crisis management during high-traffic events or sensitive discussions
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional chat moderation or community management experience
- Deep familiarity with social media platforms (Twitch, Discord, Reddit, etc.)
- Exceptional written communication skills with cultural sensitivity awareness
- Ability to make quick decisions under pressure while maintaining neutrality
- Experience with moderation tools (e.g., Modbot, Nightbot, Squadcast)
- Strong understanding of digital safety protocols and content moderation frameworks
- High school diploma; bachelor's degree in Communications, Psychology, or related field preferred
- Must be located within Los Angeles County with reliable high-speed internet
