Responsibilities
- Listen to and transcribe audio recordings into written text with a high degree of accuracy.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style compliance.
- Adhere to strict formatting guidelines and client-specific requirements.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage workload efficiently to meet daily production and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding complex dictation or technical issues.
- Utilize specialized transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Epic) effectively.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; Associate degree in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional transcription experience (Medical transcription strongly preferred).
- Typing speed of at least 60 WPM with high accuracy.
- Strong command of the English language, including advanced grammar and vocabulary.
- Familiarity with medical and legal terminology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup if remote work is applicable (currently on-site preferred).
