Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical consultations and convert them into accurate, readable text documents.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and medical terminology accuracy.
- Adhere to strict deadlines and maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding patient information.
- Use specialized transcription software and medical dictionaries to ensure precision.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify complex medical terms or audio issues.
- Ensure all transcripts meet industry standards and client specifications.
- Manage daily workflow efficiently to meet weekly volume targets.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Transcription or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a transcriptionist or similar administrative role.
- Excellent command of the English language, including grammar and punctuation.
- Typing speed of at least 60 WPM with high accuracy.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and specialized transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe).
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
