Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate complex appointment schedules for medical staff and patients using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to scheduling to ensure seamless service.
- Greet and check-in patients in a professional, welcoming, and efficient manner.
- Answer high-volume incoming calls and resolve scheduling conflicts or cancellations immediately.
- Communicate clear appointment details, including preparation instructions and location logistics.
- Assist with data entry, including updating patient demographics and tracking no-show rates.
- Collaborate with billing and front desk teams to resolve billing inquiries related to appointments.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical scheduling or a related administrative role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a busy office environment.
- Familiarity with EHR software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is a plus.
