Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate complex appointment schedules for medical providers using our scheduling software (e.g., Epic or NextGen).
- Greet patients and visitors in person or via phone, verifying demographic information and insurance details.
- Process new patient intakes, ensuring all required forms and documentation are completed accurately.
- Communicate effectively with patients to confirm appointments, reschedule cancellations, and handle inquiries professionally.
- Maintain and update the electronic health records (EHR) system to reflect the most current schedule status.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management of office supplies.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize provider schedules and reduce wait times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical scheduling, administrative support, or customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with electronic health records systems.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs as needed.
