Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical dictation and transcribe them into accurate, professional documents.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology accuracy.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Manage multiple transcription projects and meet strict daily and weekly deadlines.
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and transcription software efficiently.
- Communicate with healthcare providers regarding clarification of medical terms or unclear dictation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or certification in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Proven experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or similar administrative role.
- Exceptional typing speed and accuracy (minimum 60-70 wpm).
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and specialized transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote or hybrid setting.
