Responsibilities
- Listen to dictated medical recordings and transcribe them into accurate text format.
- Format and edit transcribed reports according to specific style guides and quality standards.
- Proofread all transcribed documents for accuracy, grammar, and proper medical terminology usage.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient data.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to clarify unclear dictation or terminology.
- Utilize medical transcription software and electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity quotas without compromising on quality.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Transcription or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or similar role.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
- Exceptional typing speed (minimum 60 WPM) with high accuracy.
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar and punctuation.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office space.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
