Responsibilities
- Convert Audio to Text: Listen to audio recordings of medical dictation and transcribe them into clear, accurate text documents.
- Quality Assurance: Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure adherence to medical terminology and grammar standards.
- Terminology Research: Accurately interpret and spell complex medical terms, drugs, and procedures.
- Adherence to Guidelines: Follow strict company style guides and HIPAA compliance protocols for all documentation.
- Timely Delivery: Meet daily and weekly production targets while maintaining high accuracy rates.
- Client Communication: Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding unclear dictation or formatting requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, English, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience as a transcriptionist, medical secretary, or in a similar administrative role.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and medical transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Express Scribe).
- Typing Speed: Minimum 60 WPM with high accuracy (98%+).
- Technical Setup: Reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated home office setup.
- Language: Strong command of the English language, including grammar and spelling.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to catch subtle errors in audio and text.
