Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe dictated medical reports from audio recordings into clear, formatted text.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, and medical accuracy.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards.
- Use transcription software and electronic health record (EHR) systems to manage workflow.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity and accuracy benchmarks.
- Research medical terminology and drug names as needed to ensure correct documentation.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding unclear dictation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or certification in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in medical transcription or related healthcare documentation.
- Proven typing speed of at least 65 words per minute with high accuracy.
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office space.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and medical transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking).
