Responsibilities
- Transcription: Listen to and accurately transcribe audio recordings of medical consultations, dictations, and procedures into written text.
- Quality Assurance: Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure 99% accuracy, proper grammar, and correct medical terminology usage.
- Confidentiality: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and company confidentiality policies at all times.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize proprietary transcription software and electronic health record (EHR) systems to manage patient data efficiently.
- Communication: Clarify unclear audio segments or terminology by researching resources or communicating with medical staff when necessary.
- Compliance: Ensure all output meets the specific formatting and style guidelines set by the facility or client.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical transcription, with a preference for acute care or specialty experience.
- Skills: Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
- Typing: Demonstrated typing speed of at least 60 words per minute with high accuracy.
- Hardware: Reliable, high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, quiet workspace.
- Software: Familiarity with transcription platforms (e.g., Express Scribe, Dragon NaturallySpeaking) and MS Office Suite.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of a medical transcription program is a plus.
