Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings and transcribe them into accurate text format, adhering to client specifications.
- Demonstrate a strong command of medical terminology, grammar, and punctuation to ensure high-quality output.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to correct errors, typos, and formatting issues before submission.
- Meet daily and weekly production quotas with a focus on speed and efficiency.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA compliance standards at all times.
- Utilize transcription software and tools (e.g., Express Scribe, Dragon) effectively to optimize workflow.
- Communicate proactively with team leads regarding complex dictations or technical issues.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Medical Transcription is preferred.
- Proven experience in medical transcription or a related healthcare documentation role.
- Exceptional typing speed of at least 60 WPM with a focus on accuracy.
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and sentence structure.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Familiarity with medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT) is a plus but not required.
