As a remote tutor with EduConnect Detroit, you'll become part of a vibrant community of educators committed to closing achievement gaps in Detroit's underserved communities. We value cultural competence and innovative teaching approaches that resonate with Michigan's diverse student population.
Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 and small-group virtual instruction in core subjects (Math, Science, ELA, Social Studies)
- Develop customized lesson plans aligned with Michigan state standards and student learning goals
- Utilize our interactive digital platform for engaging, real-time tutoring sessions
- Monitor student progress through regular assessments and detailed progress reports
- Collaborate with parents and classroom teachers to support holistic student development
- Participate in ongoing training and curriculum refinement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant subject field (Master's preferred)
- Valid Michigan teaching certification or equivalent tutoring credentials
- 2+ years of virtual or classroom teaching experience
- Proficiency in online tutoring platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.)
- Strong subject matter expertise in at least two core curriculum areas
- Excellent communication skills with ability to adapt teaching methods
- Background check and child safety clearance compliance
