Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging one-on-one and small group virtual tutoring sessions in core academic subjects
- Develop customized lesson plans aligned with DC curriculum standards and individual learning needs
- Utilize our interactive digital platform to create dynamic, visually stimulating lessons
- Monitor student progress through regular assessments and adjust teaching methodologies accordingly
- Provide constructive feedback and motivate students to achieve their full potential
- Communicate effectively with parents and school administrators regarding student development
- Participate in ongoing professional development workshops to enhance tutoring techniques
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years of tutoring or teaching experience, preferably in virtual settings
- Deep knowledge of at least one core academic subject (Math, Science, English, etc.)
- Proficiency in video conferencing tools and educational technology platforms
- Excellent communication skills with ability to simplify complex concepts
- Patience, creativity, and ability to adapt teaching styles to diverse learners
- Valid Washington DC teaching license or relevant certification preferred
- Background check clearance required
