Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging 1:1 and small-group virtual tutoring sessions across core subjects (Math, ELA, Science)
- Develop customized lesson plans aligned with DC curriculum standards and student goals
- Monitor student progress through our digital dashboard and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians about student achievements and areas for growth
- Utilize interactive tools (whiteboards, simulations, digital assessments) to enhance learning experiences
- Participate in ongoing training on pedagogical best practices and platform updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (or equivalent teaching experience)
- Valid DC teaching certification or ability to obtain within 60 days
- 2+ years of tutoring or classroom experience with K-12 students
- Proficiency in virtual teaching platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, our proprietary system)
- Strong subject matter expertise in at least two core curriculum areas
- Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt teaching styles to diverse learners
- Background check clearance required
