Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging one-on-one and small-group virtual tutoring sessions in core subjects (Math, Science, English, History)
- Develop customized lesson plans aligned with state standards and individual student learning objectives
- Monitor student progress through regular assessments and provide detailed progress reports
- Utilize interactive digital platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, specialized tutoring software) for seamless instruction
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and academic advisors regarding performance and goals
- Stay current with curriculum updates and innovative pedagogical techniques
- Maintain a positive, motivational learning environment that builds student confidence
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, English, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of tutoring or classroom teaching experience
- Proven track record of improving student academic performance
- Proficiency in online teaching tools and video conferencing platforms
- Excellent communication skills with ability to adapt teaching styles to diverse learners
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple students and schedules
- Tennessee teaching certification or equivalent state credentials (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
