Responsibilities
- Deliver 1-on-1 and small-group virtual tutoring sessions for K-12 students in core subjects (Math, Science, English, History)
- Develop customized lesson plans aligned with Boston Public Schools curriculum standards and state frameworks
- Monitor student progress through our LMS platform and provide detailed performance reports
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student achievements and improvement areas
- Utilize interactive digital tools (virtual whiteboards, simulations, multimedia resources) to enhance engagement
- Participate in ongoing professional development to refine tutoring methodologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM field, or related subject (Master's preferred)
- 2+ years of formal tutoring or classroom teaching experience
- Familiarity with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and Boston Public Schools standards
- Expertise in at least two core academic subjects (Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies)
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to adapt teaching styles for diverse learners
- Proficiency with video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Google Meet) and digital tutoring tools
- Massachusetts teaching certification (preferred) or ability to obtain within 90 days
