Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging 1:1 and small-group virtual lessons in core subjects (Math, Science, ELA, etc.)
- Assess student progress through interactive digital assessments and adaptive learning tools
- Develop customized lesson plans aligned with Michigan state standards and student needs
- Provide timely feedback and progress reports to parents and academic advisors
- Maintain accurate session logs and student achievement documentation
- Participate in ongoing professional development and curriculum refinement
- Collaborate with a network of tutors to share best practices and resources
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant subject field (or current enrollment)
- 1+ years of tutoring or classroom teaching experience
- Proficiency in virtual classroom platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.)
- Strong communication skills with ability to simplify complex concepts
- Detroit metro area residency preferred (not required for remote role)
- Valid Michigan teaching license or certification (preferred but not required)
- Background check clearance and reliable high-speed internet connection
- Availability for weekday evening and weekend sessions
