Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging one-on-one and small-group virtual tutoring sessions via our proprietary platform
- Develop customized lesson plans aligned with NY State curriculum standards and student learning objectives
- Monitor student progress and provide detailed performance reports to parents and academic advisors
- Utilize interactive digital tools (virtual whiteboards, simulations, etc.) to enhance learning experiences
- Maintain accurate session documentation and track student milestones in our learning management system
- Collaborate with curriculum specialists to refine teaching methodologies and content delivery
- Participate in ongoing professional development workshops to stay current with educational best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, English, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of classroom or online tutoring experience with proven student success metrics
- Deep knowledge of NY State curriculum standards and Common Core requirements
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to adapt teaching styles to diverse learning needs
- Proficiency in virtual tutoring platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.) and educational software
- Strong time management and organizational abilities to handle multiple student schedules
- Valid NYC DOE fingerprinting clearance or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Reliable high-speed internet and quiet home office environment for virtual sessions
