Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging 1-on-1 and small-group virtual instruction in Math, Science, English, or Social Studies
- Develop personalized lesson plans aligned with Virginia state standards and student learning objectives
- Utilize interactive digital tools (whiteboards, simulations, multimedia resources) to enhance learning outcomes
- Monitor student progress through regular assessments and provide detailed feedback to parents
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, student progress, and curriculum modifications
- Collaborate with academic coordinators to address student needs and adjust teaching strategies
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with educational technologies and pedagogical best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (or current enrollment in accredited program)
- Virginia teaching certification (or actively pursuing certification)
- Minimum 2 years of classroom or tutoring experience with K-12 students
- Proficiency in virtual teaching platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, Canvas)
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to build rapport with students and parents
- Strong subject matter expertise in at least one core academic area
- Reliable high-speed internet and dedicated home office space
- Passion for education and commitment to student success
